Dawn Mountain is wonderfully situated to permanently establish an institution capable of contributing in exceptional ways to the growing spiritual richness and cross-cultural dialogue yearned for by so many. It is already a significant player in the epoch-making tasks of cultural preservation, transmission of Buddhism to the West, and integrating spiritual practice with psychological insight. Simply stated, Dawn Mountain is in the right place at the right time. Its work will make a difference for decades to come.

Dawn Mountain was established on June 27th, 1996, by Anne Klein, Ph.D. and Harvey Aronson, Ph.D., M.S.W. who have been traveling the spiritual path together for over 30 years. Their purpose in establishing Dawn Mountain is to provide Houston and the larger U.S. community with a place for study and meditation through a range of classes on traditional Buddhist practice and on contemporary processes of self-reflection. The results have been profound and widespread.

Thousands of people nationwide from a wide spectrum of ethnic, socio-economic and religious affiliations have gained inspiration, insight, and spiritual enrichment from Dawn Mountain. This important work affords all interested persons the opportunity to connect with authentic Tibetan Buddhist traditions and to meet personally with outstanding spiritual masters. Dawn Mountain also teaches basic non-denominational techniques of introspection and meditation geared to promote physical and mental wellness. In brief, Dawn Mountain uniquely combines training in genuine Tibetan traditions with a variety of ancillary classes, workshops and seminars that address the spiritual and day-to-day challenges facing modern western students.

With your support, financial and spiritual, Dawn Mountain will establish a permanent home where its meaningful work will continue to flourish. For generations to come, it will be a place where contemporary Houstonians of multiple ethnic origins meet, finding spiritual peace, meaningful cross-cultural interaction, and artistic inspiration.
