You’ve heard the buzz, but is mindfulness all that?
The bottom line is: Yes!
And in young adults in particular, mindfulness meditation has been shown to:
-increase feelings of well-being
-improve school performance, and
-improve sleep, just for starters…
Dawn Mountain’s course for high school students this fall will teach you everything you need to know to make this major life hack work for you!
In addition to learning everything necessary to practice mindfulness and improve your life, you will get practical instruction in self-compassion, forgiveness, and non-violent communication. At the end, you’ll have an “extra credit” opportunity for compassionate action, putting what you’ve learned to work in the service of others. (Documentation of community service hours available for the people at your school.)
MFY will be facilitated by Simone Woodage, RN, Dawn Mountain’s family educator, long-time meditator and mom to three young adult men. Assisting her will be Karen Starz, a dynamic, certified Nonviolent Communication trainer with lots of experience facilitating with young people.
Fee: $180/$150/$120 plus $30 for an additional teen from the same family.*
