Dawn Mountain holds Heart Essence Dzogchen transmissions reaching from Padmasambhava to Longchenpa, Jigme Lingpa, and Adzom Drukpa, on to the contemporary A.dzom Paylo Rinpoche. These teachings, which include both preparatory and fruitional stages of the path, are the at the center of our Dzogchen Cycles programs.
A.dzom Rinpoche is widely seen as the one of the very greatest Dzogchen masters in Tibet today and is recognized as a reincarnation of King Trisong Daytsen, Vimalamitra, Jigme Lingpa, and Ngari Panchen. He is famous for his one-on-one Dzogchen instruction, his powerful energetic transmissions, and his soaring poetic voice as he brings forth wisdom, often in song, from the very heart of the dharmakaya.
Rinpoche’s sister is Jetsunma Kacho Wangmo, who currently teaches in China. She is widely regarded as an emanation of Tārā and as the rebirth of the famous lady yogi-doctor Chime Wangmo. When she saw the list of Tibetan texts on which we would draw during our three years, she told us that she will gather the materials together in Tibetan herself and teach this program herself in China in the coming years.
We have been in contact with A.dzom Rinpoche and Jetsunma in the final stages of developing this program and are profoundly happy to know that it has their enthusiastic support. In particular, Dawn Mountain is honored to have Rinpoche’s blessing to offer revealed treasures that have not been made publicly available before in the West, along with central practices he has personally shared over the last 15 years. Our teachings during this cycle will be supported by practices and texts revealed by Longchen Rabjam and Jigme Lingpa, which we have also studied with him or others.
A.dzom Rinpoche has recently encouraged us to include several select texts from his own revealed treasures, the Luminous Heart Essence (Osel Nyingthig). Dawn Mountain’s first three-year Dzogchen Cycles program will offer A.dzom Rinpoche’s own Severance (gcod) compilation as well as his Yeshe Tsogyal Foundational Dakini Practice, and the Yeshe Tsogyal and Guru Rinpoche practice texts (sadhanas) of this cycle. None of these have been taught openly in the West until now.
This is an extraordinary opportunity. Treasures are considered most powerful when practiced close to the time of their discovery. They are traditionally described as “timely messages” left by Guru Rinpoche to come forth when they would be most effective.
Those of us who have had even brief contact with these treasure teachings have felt incredibly blessed by them. We are profoundly inspired by the opportunity to share them, along with related lineage transmissions, with sincere students.
