Annual Giving

Annual Giving- The Annual Fund (Horizon Initiative)

The Annual Fund supports Dawn Mountain’s operating budget. Annual gifts from members and friends provide unrestricted funds to support the full range of programs, broadcasting, facilities, and operations necessary to fulfill our mission to serve “curious people everywhere.” The Annual Fund represents a significant portion of our yearly revenue and we are grateful for your trust and support.

The Annual Fund is built upon 3 pillars:

Respect: Out of respect for our sangha, we communicate our Annual Fund needs and goals early in the calendar year. We invite you to support Dawn Mountain in the form of a pledge that sets forth and communicates your intended payment schedule for the year.

Stewardship: By understanding when our sangha intends to pay their pledge, we can better steward your gifts for Dawn Mountain’s financial planning. Every organization must strategically plan its fiscal year to manage its finances and utilize available resources for maximum impact. Your gift helps us accomplish this important goal.

Yes: Most importantly, it allows us to say yes to high impact opportunities. Examples of such opportunities are broadcast capability, capital improvements, or other assets to our sangha. Knowing the financial landscape allows us to say yes, rather than wait until the end of the year to seize excellent opportunities.

In short, the Annual Fund is grounded in Respect, Stewardship, and Saying Yes. It is through your support of this philosophy that we deliver upon our core values of Compassion, Community, Tradition, and Transformation, and bring them into fruition for our sangha and beyond.

Lifetime Giving – The Founders’ Society

In 1996, Lama Rigzin Drolma and Lama Namgyal Dorje (Anne and Harvey) began a journey that would touch the lives of all who encountered it. They envisioned teachings that would serve “curious people everywhere” and promote the core values of Compassion, Community, Tradition, and Transformation.

Today, Dawn Mountain stands as testament to their vision and the passion of our sangha. Members of The Founders’ Society are those who have made lifetime cumulative gifts to Dawn Mountain of $100,000 or more. They exemplify the lamas’ vision and their support ensures that Dawn Mountain continues as a living bridge to bring the dharma to our contemporary world.

It is with great pride that we honor Anne and Harvey’s vision, and those who continue to bring their mission to reality.

Dawn Mountain is a 510c3-not-for profit organization relying upon broad and substantial philanthropic support to balance our budget and your gift is greatly appreciated to bring our mission to fruition. Your gift is tax deductible.
