Here are the sadhana texts from previous retreats that we’ll be referring to in  Secrets of Wisdom:

And here are a couple of supplemental readings for this retreat:

Introduction from Mind in Tibetan Buddhism

Here’s a message from Anne about the readings in the supplemental handouts:

Dear Practitioners—

We look forward to being with you soon!

Here are some readings. They are highly beneficial. They are not required. We invite you read as you are inspired to do so. These readings connect with our wisdom retreat and the wisdom sequence at Dawn Mountain.

  1. Dalai Lama’s discussion of the 9th chapter, the wisdom chapter, of

Shantideva’s famous Bodhisattva’s Way of Life (many translations are available, slightly different titles)

The preface, introduction, and discussion of two truths are especially helpful; therefore, we especially recommend pp. 1-30.  Also, for more details on the emptiness of the middle way, pp. 75-92 also recommended. [The later pages aren’t included in the section of the book available here; you can purchase the full book to read more.]

At a later time we may take up the debates that are detailed in the remaining chapters.

  1. The newly translated sutra on the dharma-dhatu—basic space, essential creative ground of everything, especially verses I.11-I.34

“Indivisibility of the dharma-dhatu” A beauty! Starring Manjushri

We’ll discuss a few passages in the retreat, and likely more examples on Tuesdays.
